Topic: Joining map fiasco

Is it me or what?  Most of the servers I try to join are either using outdated punkbuster, or have a different version of reality running.  I wouldn't be surprised if there are different versions of the exe runing as well?

Its not as if we have a great chioce of servers (theres only about five), and if I'm having hassle why would anyone else even bother?  sad

Oops sad Looks like it was me. Seems there is an update, via the game itself. As Reality doesn't have an update option, it is available via Typhoon Rising or Escalation.

When the game starts it should be 1.7.5.7

so...no scope zoom and no kill cam?

I gave up trying to play online...no ones playing in Aus anymore. The last 2 servers i tryed to join punted me for my rediculas ping....

I just play LANS with my kid or Shev.

Seems like all the old players are waiting around for Flashpiont 2...it looks very good, but i am going to have to sell a kidney on e-bay to get a new system to play that one...

No KC, I never noticed that. Better have another look.
You should be able to set the scope zoom in server mode via the game.cfg file.

I think yes...if YOU are running the server and want the zoom turned on. I thought it was just a default setting from the patch update?.

It's more realistic without zoom isn't it?...i dun know of any zoom scope for rifles that are on the market for sale to civies...maybe the military have them...are zooms on scopes even out there or was it just a video game thing?...

If we are going to be "R.E.A.L." about JO reality mod anyway, maybe we should leave the zoom out of it...??
Lets get a vote on that one peeps...id be interested to hear what you guys think. Myself personally - i like the scope zoom...but if it's not real then i wanna be real...

No kill cam is a good thing...if you can get into a good spot and only shoot when background noise like auto gun fire and explosions are going off and you wait to shoot till these sounds happen....thats how its supposed to be dun....

I had a rifle scope that has 3-16x zoom ( before I broke it ) and my Ex Soviet Millitary NV scope has zoom in it as well.
Simple answer is Yes, there are scopes with Zoom functions of varying degree.

wwwwwiiiickedd...for real!!...can you buy me one for Christmas?? ive been a fairly good boy this year.

One of the really really old boys at the rifle range showed me a 2nd gen nv scope for a dragonof (sp) but everything was writin in bloody Russkie and i couldnt get battries for it...dunno about the zoom thing either, he wanted 800 bux for it...is that a good price?? n what would i put it on if i got it anyway? it looked like it was a side set up mount for that rifle i couldn spkell before...

My NV scope cost me £250, and it takes a litium camera type battery.

sorry man... i got my Star Treks mixed up....the range finder in the scope was 2nd gen not the scope its self...dont matter though...its no good for use with political assasination attempts at nite...i got told it will give off a heat signiture detectable by most satelites orbiting this fucked up planet...so...dont use it for killing pollies at night...ur best bet would be a suprise assault in broad daylight with an "out of date" calibre cannon under rule.303...they will never even see it coming...u heard it first here at www.psyh....oh forget it....why do i bother ...

...and its no good reporting me to the local authorities either...they already know exactly who i am where im at and what i own...they have allowed "me" to evolve by pure default and now they are shitting themselves....bring it.
