It seems Novalogic and Evenbalance (the company that provide PunkBuster) have had a fall out, and PB is no longer supported by Evenbalance.

Even so some servers are still running it, and it is increasingly difficult to find a copy, or indeed to update online via Novalogics ingame command line methods.

Having recently upgraded my machine to 64Bit I found it time consumming and a pain to find the files to enable me to join the respective servers running PB.  It is to this end I have put a shortcut here to enable you to download a folder in zip format that will directly replace you existing PB folder.

This is a folder from a working PC with JO plus mods, with XP64pro OS.

Simply MOVE your existing PB folder to a safe place, (i.e. as a backup) and put this folder (after unzipping it) in it's place.

It would also be interesting to get your comments and thoughts as to why you use it, and does it still work effectively? I personally don't use it when serving, but then I don't run unattended servers.

does that explain why, while playing any branch of the game (JOTR, JO:E or JO R) i get randomly kicked out with message "yadda yadda PB initiation failure yadda yadda..."?

If they are running PB on their server then it IS quite possible.  You will never be quite sure if they have got the correct/latest version.  Seeing as Evenbalance don't support JO any more there won't be any updates.  I wonder if thats why Novalogic released their new EXE for JO ?

I have seen that message lots of times whilst trying to join  a PB enable server, I now don't bother, & just join the non-PB ones.
